About the event
The Toby Tobias Ensemble is a Long Island based band, under the direction of South African born guitarist and composer Toby Tobias. The music of THE TOBY TOBIAS ENSEMBLE can best be described as Modern Folk/Jazz, influenced by Funk & World Rhythms. His recordings evoke the spirit and ferver of battles won and lost for a good cause. And whether those battles be for love, freedom or peace, they are familiar in tone for all of us. In addition to his weekly world music radio show on WUSB (Stony Brook), Toby hosts a weekly open mic night where he has discovered and nurtured emerging talent here on Long Island. One of his protege's, Ben Diamond is his special guest.
