About the event
Corey Glover was born in Brooklyn, New York City. He was an aspiring actor when guitarist Vernon Reid drafted him into Living Color in 1985. Living Color found immediate success with the release of their debut album, Vivid in 1988. It eventually went platinum in 1989 and again five years later.
The album's single "Cult of Personality" won the 1989 Grammy Award for Best Hard Rock Performance and the band was named Best New Artist at the MTV Music Awards.
In 2023, Billboard ranked Glover as #45 on its list of the 50 Greatest Rock Lead Singers of All Time.
