Long Island-based harmony trio Gathering Time, who have been called the “keepers of the flame” of 1960s folk and folk-rock, will usher in the winter with song at My Father’s Place in Roslyn Village on Wed., Dec. 3 – but probably not the songs you’ll be hearing plenty of already while you’re shopping.‘WinterFolk,’ a program they first conceived nearly a decade ago, features music by folk and folk-rock legends like Simon & Garfunkel, the Mamas and the Papas, Joni Mitchell, Tom Rush, Gordon Lightfoot and many others, as well as contemporary songwriters, plus traditional and original songs.“Everyone complains about the winter weather,” said founding member Stuart Markus, “so we figured, why not sing about it?
