About the event

Black And Blue is a stunning New York based Rolling Stones tribute band that is guaranteed to leave a positive impression on audiences everywhere. The group was founded in 2006 by lead vocalist and guitarist Tom Oliva, along with bassist Dan Hickman and blues harp player and percussionist Joe Santino, all hailing from the Northport area of the island.

Fittingly, the band’s first public performance was right at Gunther’s Tap Room on Main Street, in the heart of Northport Village. With that success, and taking inspiration from a Rolling Stones song off the album of which is the band’s namesake, the group also performed at the Memory Motel in Montauk every summer.

After several years of performing at numerous venues and private events across Long Island to great response and going through some band member changes, Black And Blue garnered a large and dedicated following and came to the current band lineup as follows:

Tom Oliva; lead vocals and guitars Stemming from a deep love of the music of the Rolling Stones, Tom

consistently captures both the overall essence and discrete nuances of Mick Jagger’s vocal performances. From the baritone grunts of “Street Fighting Man” and “Stray Cat Blues” to the gentle whispers of “Angie” to the acerbic shrieks of “Sympathy For The Devil”, Tom covers it all. Also, he is not just a secondary guitarist but handles a great deal of the rhythm and lead duties in the band. Tom’s consistency and dedication is at the core of what keeps the band going.

Jim Baron; guitars and vocals Jim’s guitar style features an explosive sound that faithfully exudes

the aura of Keith Richards’ signature sonic arenas, such as the open- tuned power chords in classics like “Brown Sugar”, “Jumping Jack Flash” and “Start Me Up”. Not limited to that, Jim also covers the intricate lead and slide guitar styles of Ron Wood and Mick Taylor. Additionally, he handles the bulk of the backing vocals, still hitting the high notes that Keith did back in the day.

Joe Santino; blues harp, percussion and backing vocals Joe has always held a deep affinity for Chicago blues, including

players that the Stones themselves took influence from, like James Cotton and Little Walter. With his combined talents, Joe is like the musical glue that fills up and sweetens the overall sound of the band.

Steve Peper; drums and backing vocals Steve started playing drums at a very early age and took a great

deal of influence from a variety of classic rock acts. Consequently, he exhibits a wide range of textures to ground the band with; styles that both rock and swing. Steve can faithfully recapture the finesse of Charlie Watts’ playing, but he can also lift the energy of the room with unique, hard-hitting embellishments that keep the crowds moving.

Dan Hickman; bass guitar and backing vocals Dan’s solid bass guitar style is at the foundation of Black And Blue.

He recreates note-for-note parts of the Stones classics that help guide the band with confidence and authenticity. Dan also has a great amicable personality that keeps everyone positive minded.

Jim Monteleone; keyboards, guitar and backing vocals Jim is a masterful player that accurately reproduces the familiar

piano and organ stylings of Ian Stewart, Nicky Hopkins and Billy Preston. Like Brian Jones, he is a multi-instrumentalist who is comfortable in rounding out the band’s sound with slide guitar, percussion and backing vocals as needed, as well as dialing in horn and sitar sounds for those recognizable musical moments of the Stones’ classics hits.

Mark Rowser; saxophone and percussion Mark grew up immersed in contemporary jazz, r&b, funk, latin

music, classic rock, and new wave styles. With a true passion for groove oriented music and stark showmanship, Mark is often out front and center, adding a swanky sound and visual appeal that Black And Blue fans have come to know and love.

Show after show, the crowds are getting bigger for Black And Blue. Stones fanatics enthusiastically connect online and then line up at the doors. And God knows there’s a lot of them. Black And Blue is an intense Rolling Stones band experience like no other that leaves its audiences with complete satisfaction every time.
